Eddie works on a fantasy every furious fan has had: give me the clipboard, I can fix these idiots. Whoopi Goldberg's Eddie is not a tactical savant; she knows the players, knows the crowd and treats the roster like people before assets. The plot piles on sitcom logic, but the central fan-to-coach idea still has charm.
