Privacy Policy & Kids Privacy Notice · Version 2026-08-03

Your record stays yours.

DOUNOBALL collects only the information needed to run accounts, save basketball progress and protect the games. Kids Corner remains playable without an account, and child profiles are parent-managed and private by default.

Who is responsible for your information

DOUNOBALL operates this website and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Privacy questions, access and correction requests can be sent to privacy@dounoball.com.

Information we collect

Guests can play without providing an email. If you create an account, we collect your email, username, authentication records and the game, streak, BKR, profile, training and basketball-journey information you choose to save.

The service may also process limited technical information such as IP address, device and browser details, request logs, crash information and security events needed to operate, diagnose and protect the site.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts, deliver daily games, calculate and verify records, sync progress, provide family controls, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors and improve DOUNOBALL.

Account confirmation, password, security and important service messages are operational emails. We do not add an account email to a marketing list without a separate, optional consent, and every marketing email will provide an unsubscribe method.

Local storage and analytics

DOUNOBALL uses browser storage to remember guest progress, settings, selected family profiles and unfinished daily games. Essential authentication storage keeps signed-in sessions working.

If non-essential advertising or analytics technologies are introduced, this policy and any consent controls will be updated before they are used where consent is required.

Sharing, retention and security

We share information only with providers needed to host, authenticate, secure, diagnose and operate the service, or when required by law. We do not sell personal information or child-profile data.

We keep account and progress information while the account or profile is active and for only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, security, dispute handling and legal obligations. We use access controls, private-by-default child profiles and protected server processes, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Who can create an account

Players under 15 must not create an independent DOUNOBALL account. A parent or guardian uses their own confirmed email account and may create a private child profile underneath it.

Players aged 15–17 may create their own confirmed account or continue using a parent-managed child profile. This follows Australian privacy guidance on a young person's capacity to consent; a parent or guardian should still manage the profile whenever the young person cannot understand the privacy choice.

Playing without a profile

Kids Corner can be used as a guest with no email, password or server child profile. Kids BKR, badges and activity progress are stored in that browser. Clearing browser data or changing devices can erase guest progress.

What a child profile stores

We collect only a nickname, broad age bracket, preset avatar choice, Kids BKR, achievements, activity completion, best scores and game history needed to provide and sync Kids Corner.

We do not ask for a child's email, password, exact birthday, full legal name, school, home address, precise location, phone number, voice recording, photo or government identification.

Parent or guardian consent

Before a child profile is created, the signed-in adult must confirm they are 18 or older and are the child's parent, legal guardian or authorised carer. They must separately consent to private progress storage after receiving this notice.

Consent covers internal use needed to provide Kids Corner and sync progress. It does not permit targeted advertising, child marketing, public profiles, sale of data or unrelated third-party use.

Private by default

Child profiles cannot be publicly searched or shared, cannot send or receive messages and cannot upload a real photo. DOUNOBALL does not build advertising profiles about children or use child progress to target advertisements.

Parent and child data is separated using database row-level access controls. A signed-in guardian can access only child profiles attached to their own account.

Service providers and overseas processing

DOUNOBALL uses Supabase to provide account authentication and secure database hosting. The current DOUNOBALL database is hosted in the AWS Mumbai region in India, so account and child-profile data may be processed and stored outside Australia to provide the service.

Hosting, security and error-diagnostic providers may process limited technical information needed to operate and protect the site. They are not permitted by DOUNOBALL to use child-profile data for advertising.

Parent access, export and deletion

A parent or guardian can view each child profile, export its saved data or permanently delete the profile and its active Kids BKR, achievements and history from the Family Profiles page.

We retain child-profile data while the profile is active and only for as long as it is needed to provide the saved-progress feature. Deleting a profile removes it from the active service; limited residual copies may remain temporarily in protected backups before they expire.

To correct a profile, withdraw consent or ask a privacy question, use the Family Profiles controls or email privacy@dounoball.com.

Adult accounts and daily games

Adult and independent eligible player accounts can save supported daily results, streaks, BKR and Baller HQ progress. Official BKR and daily-game records are calculated or verified by trusted server processes; practice runs do not count.

You can correct profile information from your account. To request a copy of your account information or deletion of your account and active saved progress, email privacy@dounoball.com. We may retain limited records where reasonably required for security, dispute handling or legal obligations.

Sharing and trusted devices

Child profiles have no public sharing feature. Adult share buttons generate plain text and hand it to the device's share sheet or clipboard. Families should sign out on shared devices when finished; signing out clears the selected child profile from the app.

Changes to this notice

If the information collected from children or its purpose materially changes, DOUNOBALL will update this notice and request fresh parent or guardian consent before applying the change to a child profile.

Family controls

Signed-in parents and guardians can manage private profiles from the Family Profiles page. Kids Corner remains available without creating any profile.
